Steve Pearce traded to Orioles

Steve Pearce was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Baltimore Orioles on August 1, 2016. The Rays in exchange received Jonah Heim.

Pearce is an OF\1B\2B who hit .309/.388/.520 with 10 HR, 29 RBI, 26 R, 0 SB in 60 games with the Rays in 2016. Over 10 MLB seasons with the Rays, Orioles, Yankees, Astros and Pirates he hit .255/.334/.442 with 63 HR, 209 RBI, 199 R, 13 SB in 544 games. He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the eighth round in 2005. Pearce turned 33 on April 13.

Heim is a catcher who hit .216/.300/.344 with 7 HR, 30 RBI, 30 R, 2 SB in 88 games at Class A Advanced Frederick. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the fourth round in 2013. Heim turned 21 on June 27.
