Edinson Volquez pitches no-hitter vs Diamondbacks 060317

Edinson Volquez of the Miami Marlins pitched a no-hitter in a 3-0 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 3, 2017. His line for the game was 9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R. 0 ER,2 BB, 10 K in 98 pitches. Justin Bour initially provided all the necessary offensive support by knocking in Giancarlo Stanton with a single in the fourth. Insurance was provided in the eighth when Marcell Ozuna singled to allow Stanton to score again and Bour doubled to knock in Christian Yelich for the final run. 

This season the RHP is 2-7, 3.79 ERA, 57 K, 1.38 WHIP, .235 BAA in 61.2 IP over 11 GS. Over 13 MLB seasons with the Marlins, Royals, Pirates, Dodgers, Padres, Reds and Rangers he is 91-86, 4.41 ERA, 1286 K, 1.41 WHIP, .256 BAA in 1494.0 IP over 270 games with 263 GS.  He originally signed with the Rangers in 2001 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Volquez will be 34 on July 3rd.
