DJ Peters California League POW 070317 to 070917

D.J. Peters of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes was selected the California League Player of the Week for the span of July 3, 2017 through July 9, 2017. For the week he hit 13 for 29, .448/.500/.966 with 4 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB and 1 BB in 7 games. That included hitting two home runs in one inning off rehabbing Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants. He had also earned the award week 3 and week 10. This season the outfielder is hitting 89 for 313, .284/.389/.559 with 19 HR, 57 RBI, 55 R, 3 SB in 84 games. Rancho Cucamonga is the Class A Advanced team of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers with the fourth round in 2016. Peters turned 21 on December 12.
