Garrett Cooper traded to Yankees

Garrett Cooper was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the New York Yankees on July 13, 2017. The Brewers in exchange received Tyler Webb.

First baseman Cooper hit 102 for 279, .366/.428/652 with 17 HR, 82 RBI, 64 R, 0 SB in 75 games at Triple A Colorado Springs in 2017. He was originally drafted by the Brewers in the sixth round in 2013. Cooper turned 26 on December 25.

LHP Webb had split 2017 between Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and the Yankees. He was 3-1, 3.24 ERA, 47 K, 1.08 WHIP, .250 BAA, 1 SV in 33.1 IP over 21 games at SWB and 0-0, 4.50 ERA, 5 K, 1.17 WHIP, .158 BAA in 6.0 IP over 7 games with the Yankees. He was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 10th round in 2013. Webb will be 27 on July 20.
